Mechanical Workshop FitterRead the overview of this opportunity to understand what skills, including and relevant soft skills and software package proficiencies, are required.BradfordFull-Time, PermanentHours: Monday Friday, 7:45am 4:15pm (39 hours per week)Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience + overtimeThe RoleWe are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Workshop Fitter to join our busy engineering team. This hands-on role involves the dismantling, inspection, repair, and reassembly of mechanical equipment such as gearboxes, winches, hot blocks, hydraulic pumps and motors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy industry, plant machinery, HGV, or crane maintenance.Key ResponsibilitiesStrip down, inspect, and reassemble mechanical components including gearboxes, hot blocks, and winchesClean parts thoroughly and check for faults, wear, or defectsRepair or replace damaged parts as necessaryWork with hydraulic systems including pumps and motorsComplete inspection and test sheets accurately and in a timely mannerCarry out testing procedures to ensure equipment functions safely and effectivelyMaintain a clean and safe working environment in line with company policiesCommunicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding job progress or issuesCandidate RequirementsLevel 3 qualified Mechanical Technician (or equivalent)Proven experience working in a mechanical fitting role, ideally within heavy industry, plant, HGV or cranesStrong understanding of mechanical systems and hydraulic equipmentAbility to work methodically and safely with attention to detailGood communication and record-keeping skillsTeam player with a proactive and flexible approachBenefits39-hour week with regular overtime availableOvertime rates:Time and a half after 39 hours during the week and on SaturdaysDouble time on Sundays31 days annual leave (including bank holidays)4% employer pension contributionCompany-funded social eventsFree tea and coffee throughout the dayFree Friday breakfast butty to kick off the weekend!At Venatu Recruitment Group, your right to privacy is important to us.
