Credit Controller | Permanent | Telford | £26,000 – £30,000 Seymour John is working in partnership with a growing business based in Telford to recruit a dedicated Credit Controller on a permanent basis. This is a vital role focused on managing the company’s receivables, maintaining strong customer relationships, and supporting overall cash flow performance. The Role: As Credit Controller, you will take ownership of the end-to-end credit control process, ensuring timely payments and maintaining strong customer relationships. Your key responsibilities will include: * Posting and allocating incoming payments accurately against customer accounts and invoices * Contacting customers to resolve outstanding queries and secure prompt payment * Proactively managing overdue accounts and following up on late payments via phone and email * Producing regular cash flow forecasts and monitoring expected receipts * Preparing and delivering monthly reports on aged debt, collections performance, and risk exposure * Reconciling customer accounts and resolving discrepancies quickly and professionally * Assessing the creditworthiness of new and existing clients, and recommending appropriate credit limits * Collaborating with internal teams to resolve invoicing or account issues * Maintaining compliance with credit policies and internal control procedures The Ideal Candidate Will Have: * Proven experience in a Credit Controller/Accounts Assistant role * A confident and professional communication style, particularly when dealing with customers * Ability to set up and manage payment plans where needed * Strong Excel skills and the ability to quickly adapt to finance systems * Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills * A proactive, solution-focused attitude with the ability to work independently * Flexibility and a team-oriented mindset If you're an experienced Credit Controller/Accounts Assistant looking to take ownership in a supportive and forward-thinking business, we’d love to hear from you
