The firms strong banking and corporate capabilities enable it to provide strategic, commercially focused solutions to a diverse client base, including banks, private equity firms, corporate debtors and insolvency practitioners.Position OverviewAs a Restructuring Associate, you will play a crucial role in assisting the team in providing strategic advice and solutions to clients facing financial challenges or change. You will work on a variety of complex restructuring and insolvency matters, leveraging your technical excellence and commercial awareness to deliver exceptional results for clients across various sectors, including retail, real estate and financial services.ResponsibilitiesAssist in transactional and advisory work, providing initial advice on structuring and implementation under the guidance of senior lawyersAdvise a wide range of clients with differing interests, ensuring tailored guidance for each scenarioConduct comprehensive legal research to support various projects and client needsContribute to business development efforts, including preparing pitches, presentations, and attending eventsReview finance documentation and analyse potential restructuring scenarios to protect or enhance clients' positionsWork closely with the leveraged finance team to ensure early engagement and maximise the prospect of a successful restructureRequirementsEngland & Wales qualified lawyer with 1-3 years of post-qualification experience in financial restructuring and insolvency work at a top-tier law firmDemonstrate technical excellence and commercial awarenessOutstanding academic credentialsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbalWith over a decade of experience in the legal space, Rutherford specialises in presenting outstanding lawyers with the most exciting opportunities across highly ranked law firms and in-house in London.We combine a transparent and consultative approach with leading market knowledge to build a thorough understanding of your search requirements.Many of our clients work exclusively with Rutherford, giving the lawyers we represent discreet access to roles and connections they wouldn't find elsewhere.
