HGV Class 1 DriverIf you are interested in applying for this job, please make sure you meet the following requirements as listed below.HatfieldTrunking - Depot to DepotDay Pay Rates - 19.83 per hour increasing to 22.22 per hour after 12 weeksNight Pay Rates - 23.80 per hour increasing to 26.67 per hour after 12 weeks6th Day Pay Rates - 39.67 per hour increasing to 44.45 per hourOvertime available after 12 weeks serviceMinimum 6 hour shifts guaranteed - average shift length is 8 to 10 hoursYou must be available to work every Friday and Sunday with rest hours taken during the week.Minimum 12 months HGV Class 1 experience requiredUK Registered HGV License, CPC card and Tacho cardPAYE ONLYThe RoleA national courier company is seeking experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers to join its busy transport team located in Hatfield.DutiesOperate a HGV Class 1 vehicle in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring compliance with all road regulations.Deliver parcels/Packages to designated depot to depot locations in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of customer service.Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.Primarily this is trunking work with occasional load and unload of cargo including securing it appropriately for transport.Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel usage.Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to safety and operational efficiency.QualificationsValid UK HGV Class 1 driving license with the appropriate categories for commercial driving.Up to date UK CPC and Digi Cards - no EC Cards acceptedClean or minimal points on license and no major endorsements.Proven experience as a HGV Class 1 DriverStrong knowledge of UK road safety regulations and best practices in UK transportation.Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with GPS systems and a good knowledge of UK road network is essentialA good level of health and fitness and ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo is desirableStrong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on customer service.A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.You will need to pass an assessment for this role which includes a company induction, Multiple Choice Test, Reversing vehicle in to bay, vehicle coupling and uncoupling and manual entry.If you are an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver looking for a new opportunity within a dynamic team, we encourage you to apply.
