Joining the Infrastructure team, you will be reporting to the Head of IT Infrastructure, working closely with developers, project stake holders and operations, to build-out the network infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that supports high-performance trading operations, with specialized focus on networking solutions in AWS and datacentre environments.Role ResponsibilitiesCloud & Network InfrastructureDesign, deploy, and manage scalable, secure cloud and datacentre infrastructure to support high-performance trading. Build advanced AWS networking (VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, etc.) across accounts and regions. Optimise low-latency connectivity, support collocated Servers near exchanges, and implement cost-efficient network solutions.Infrastructure as Code & AutomationAutomate infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, and GitLab CI/CD. Apply GitOps for auditable, consistent deployments. Build resilient, self-healing network systems.Performance & OptimizationOptimise infrastructure for low-latency, high-availability trading. Collaborate with developers on performance tuning and troubleshoot cross-region network issues.Professional Experience and Skills5+ years in Network Cloud Engineer or Platform Engineer roleAdvanced AWS knowledge (AWS Professional Certification level)Extensive experience with AWS networking services including Transit Gateway, VPC, Direct Connect, and VPC peeringStrong understanding of on-premises datacentre networking and colocation environmentsProficiency with Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure and network automationExperience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and GitOps principlesKnowledge of container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes (EKS)Experience with monitoring and observability tools including OpenSearch, Prometheus, and GrafanaUnderstanding of security best practices and AWS CIS Benchmark standardsExperience with low-latency network design and optimizationStrong verbal communication and documentation skillsExperience with multi-region and multi-account AWS environmentsBackground in supporting high-performance or financial trading systems preferredProven ability to design and implement fault-tolerant, resilient network architecturesInterested?
