We are seeking a highly experienced IT Infrastructure Lead to join our organisation in York, working three days a week on-site. With a competitive salary of 60,000, this role is ideal for a hands-on technical expert who thrives in both strategic leadership and day-to-day operational responsibilities. Following a substantial recruitment drive across our IT department, this position will involve leading more junior engineers while taking ownership of our IT infrastructure across multiple sites. You will have a proactive mindset, strong mentoring abilities, and be capable of setting the direction for technology and infrastructure strategy within the business.Key skills and experience required:Extensive experience with on-premise infrastructure environmentsProven experience with cloud technologies, ideally Microsoft AzureStrong understanding of virtualisation technologies, ideally VMWareExperience with FortiGate firewalls and related security infrastructureDemonstrated ability to successfully migrate services and workloads to the cloudHands-on approach to solving complex technical challengesExperience with Nimble storage solutionsPrevious experience mentoring or leading more junior IT staffAbility to develop and drive infrastructure strategy across multiple sitesStrong communication and project management skillsThis is a fantastic opportunity to step into a strategic role where you will influence the future of the IT landscape across the organisation and ensure systems are stable, secure and future-proofed.
