Job Title: Contracts Manager Location : Swindon Salary: 75,000If you would like to know a bit more about this opportunity, or are considering applying, then please read the following job information.- 85,000- DOE Job Type: Permanent, Full Time We are looking for a dedicated, experienced and motivated person to join our Swindon operations team.Managing construction projects, you will lead Beard project teams, communicating business and project objectives to all members of the team and ensure company procedures are followed.The Company Our business began life in 1892, since then weve developed our crafts to realise any vision.We deliver exceptional outcomes on a wide variety of design & build, new-build, restoration & refurbishment projects, from turnkey maintenance services to complex schemes up to 30m.Beard was founded on a simple idea to build ambitious spaces.Today, thats paired with the promise of prompt and faultless delivery.We understand how these concepts are brought to life by people living well and working with purpose.Through learning, performing and connecting.People are at the heart of all we do.But serving them fully requires courage to challenge.To think differently.To act differently.Job Purpose To manage a selection of construction projects with the aim of achieving profitable, prompt and faultless delivery.The contracts manager is overall responsible for leading the Beard project team, communicating business and project objectives to all members of the team and ensuring company procedures are followed.You'll be responsible for Set high personal safety and environmental standards and ensure procedures are robustly applied.Build good working rapport with customers, consultants and key members of the supply chain.Look ahead and plan all aspects of the project, identifying challenges and suggesting solutions.Have full ownership of programmes, developing, tracking and acting where necessary.Manage the design process and consultant team to ensure information meets budget and procurement / construction timescales Work closely with others to promote company vision, values and a culture of continuous improvement.Set clear goals and objectives for each team member, including personal development objectives.Empower and encourage managers to reach considered and appropriate decisions.Have profit and loss responsibility, working closely with the project QS to ensure targets are met.Record and report all areas of delay or disruption to the progress of works and work to find resolution of issues.Experience 3 years experience as a contracts manager, or 5 years as a project manager Must have experience in D&B, framework, two stage and negotiated contracts.Preconstruction knowledge and able to assist with tendering.We're looking for someone who has: Ability to demonstrate strong commercial acumen Ability to bring an objective view to situations and draw parties together to achieve successful outcomes Ability to achieve successful outcomes through building strong teams who work together for the common good Ability to coach and develop team members to a higher level of personal performance Great communication skills Benefits Discretionary annual bonus Car allowance 27 days plus 8 bank holiday Paid sick leave (after qualifying period) Pension- company contributions x 1.5 employee contribution.Up to a maximum of 7.5% (5% employee contribution) Cash plan Salary extras benefit platform Training and development If this role appeals to you, we look forward to receiving your application.By applying for this role you agree to share your information with Beard Construction via the BuildMyTalent platform.
