Qualifications, skills, and all relevant experience needed for this role can be found in the full description below.This is a fantastic long-term project offering a great career opportunity for candidates with civil engineering contracting experience, particularly heavy earthworks experience.Project DetailsProject Director job vacancy to work on a major civil engineering and construction infrastructure project in Suffolk The projects values range from 25-80mThis role will incorporate stakeholder & client management.Full driving licence and CSCS card required for this Project Director role.Responsibilities and DutiesSome of the key responsibilities and duties of Project Director will include:Driving the design and liaising with the design team Overall responsibility for the Contractors staff and Site visitors health, safety and wellbeing on SiteChairing Project Progress meetings and collaboration meetings with interfacing contractorsSetting, monitoring and achieving project level KPIsLeading and developing the project teamBeing the day-to-day point of contact for the client Project Director and Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) Project ManagerAddressing any escalated issues from the project leadership teamReporting to the Board and to the Project Steering CommitteeFeeding lessons and experience into the wider employers businessDesired Skills and ExperienceThe job experience required to perform the duties of the Project Director:Proven experience in delivery or large scale, multi-year civil engineering projects, 50 mil +Experience of design and build projects within water and earthworks sector strongly desiredSignificant experience in all aspects of earthworks, highways and water infrastructure D&BBuilding and managing an integrated team in a collaborative environmentWorking closely with Clients and their advisors to ensure a one team approachManaging major D&B schemesUnderstanding the wider project context and client objectives such as supporting economic growth through the provision of a sustainable infrastructureDesigning and constructing environmental sensitive schemesIn addition, following skills & knowledge of Project Director are required:Aware of BIM and CDE applications and how they are central to major project successAble to lead a project controls manager to ensure timely and valuable reporting and management actionA thorough understanding of the NEC 4 ContractConstruction management including Design & Build in the water and earthworks sectorsQualifications/Educational RequirementsMICE / Chartered Engineer with ICE or Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers status or similar strongly preferred, but not essential
