Premtech specialise in multi discipline design of onshore oil and gas infrastructure, primarily high-pressure gas pipelines and associated installations such as off takes, multi-junctions, and compressor stations. Premzero are a specialist team within Premtech established in 2021 to meet an increasing demand for engineering design consultancy associated with clean energy and decarbonisation projects in the onshore oil and gas industry. Since 2021, Premzero has played a key role in several high-profile hydrogen and CO2 pipeline projects across the UK. These include detailed design for new hydrogen and CO2 pipelines and installations, repurposing natural gas pipelines for hydrogen and CO2 service, hydrogen blending into natural gas, and various innovation projects related to hydrogen transmission. Clean energy and decarbonisation are major growth areas in the energy sector and Premzero, as part of Premtech, has seen a major increase in clean energy and decarbonisation related projects in recent years.About the RolePremzero are seeking to expand our team with a number of new roles including a Process Engineer(s) to carry out tasks as described below. Applications from experienced candidates at all levels will be considered.ResponsibilitiesApply professional engineering principles, judgement, and innovative thinking to design solutions for pipeline and installation development.Manage process engineering project requirements including the review and checking of process deliverables.Process modelling, simulations, and calculations for example: pipework sizing, valve sizing, determining pressure drops across an installation or along pipeline, identifying compression requirements, heat exchanger requirements, heat and mass balance, blowdown, and relief, vent and flare design.Technical reporting including input into feasibility, conceptual and detailed design level reports, basis of design documents, and technical specifications.Work closely with various internal departments and external stakeholders, including clients and subcontractors, to collaborate on projects and guide decision-making processes.Participation, and take a lead role where appropriate, in project meetings including, project progress meetings and FPSAs (HAZID, HAZOP, layout reviews).Ensure all engineering work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices and processes.Development and review of process flow diagrams and piping and instrumentation diagrams.Development of equipment datasheets and specifications.Development and review of operating philosophies including commissioning and decommissioning.Provide assistance and support to graduate / junior engineers.QualificationsA relevant accredited engineering degree (e.g. chemical or mechanical engineering).The right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.Required SkillsExcellent communication skills written and verbal.Relevant experience as a process engineer in the UK gas transmission industry or similar related industry.Expertise and experience with an appropriate process modelling software package.Experience with UK and industry design legislation, standards, and specifications for the gas industry such as IGEM, British Standards, ASME, PSR, PSSR, and CDM.Demonstrable experience of responsibilities listed above.Preferred SkillsChartered engineer or working towards chartership.Experience with hydrogen, natural gas, and CO2 onshore pipeline transmission.Experience with UK gas networks including the design process (PS/6, G/17, G/35, GL/5) and specifications.Hazardous area classification and dispersion modelling experience.FPSA experience including HAZID and HAZOP.Familiarity with CFD techniques / software.Company BenefitsThe chance to be at the forefront of the UKs net zero infrastructure development.Competitive salary.25 days holiday plus statutory holidays increasing with time served.An annual bonus based on personal and company performance.Company pension scheme.Opportunities for professional development including training.Support for chartership if required.Regular company socials.A flexible benefit scheme where you can opt into a whole host of lifestyle options including:Gym Membership.Health Insurance.Cycle to Work scheme.Critical life insurance.Equal Opportunity StatementWe are committed to diversity and inclusivity.
