Role Overview:As Garment technologist you will be supporting the design team to manage the fit and technical process, from initial sample until delivery handover. Key Responsibilities:Assisting in the creation of spec sheets ensuring all technical attributes are correct and well communicatedLeading fit sessions for Menswear, Womenswear, Childrenswear, multi clothing products and relaying fit comments and amendments to suppliers and keeping all fit records up to dateWorking closely with Design to create clear technical packs including size specs and any specific construction details ensuring this is communicated effectively to suppliersUpdating size specs, writing up and recording comments and dataSourcing exciting new fabrics, trims and packagingTest report approvalsmaintaining physical sample library 'storage keeping historic logs and accurate updates of samples statusChecking of incoming samples for measurement, construction and design discrepanciesAssisting in Quality Control, checking production / received stock for sizing & fabric consistency and working with the Returns departmentDaily liaison with overseas suppliers ensuring deadlines are met and the critical path stays up to dateSuitable applicants will display the following skills and experience:Previous experience of working as a Garment Technologist across multi productsSolid understanding of garment construction Ability to work under pressure and to meet critical deadlinesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProven background in working with overseas manufacturersPlease note this position is based full-time, Monday to Friday, from our East Wellow office near Romsey.
