Northern Powergrid, as the company responsible for powering everyday life for 8 million customers across 3.9 million homes and businesses in the Northeast, Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire, is at the forefront of delivering a power network that meets the regions needs, now and in the future.A Dispatch Engineer is responsible for the technical and strategic management of all Low Voltage (LV) and unconfirmed High Voltage (HV) incidents via the allocation of industrial and technical resource for all restoration and repairs activities across the Northeast Area. In doing so, the Dispatch Engineer will be required to meet customer service, safety and financial expectations for the delivery of an efficient, effective and responsive incident life cycle management process and subsequent fault report.With a competitive salary between 39,937 - 53,711 (Tech Level A pp 7-13)Plus shift allowance of 27%. Key Responsibilities:Efficiently and effectively dispatch LV and unconfirmed HV fault activity to the most appropriate resourceProvide up to date, comprehensive, accurate and timely updates on the Outage Management System (OMS)Manage the operational activity of allocated Rapid Response Engineers and Major Repair Teams within region: both in hours and out of hours to ensure all associated performance standards are met.Monitor fault restoration performance to ensure there are no standards performance failuresProduce applicable incident report results from associated events on the network encountered from LV fault response activitiesProduce accurate fault reports that meet audit requirementsMaintain a close working relationship with other business sections, specifically within HV control, as well as within each region, fully utilising appropriate information systemsFully utilise the Outage Management System (OMS)Fully utilise Northern Powergrids asset database and records system Demonstrate a full operational knowledge of the LV distribution network to aid restoration and repair workDemonstrate full knowledge of current repairs and safety policiesDemonstrate basic operational knowledge of the HV systemAble to accurately recognise all faults on the LV networkUtilise an in-depth knowledge of statutory requirements and service standards applicable to the LV network to uphold regulatory integrity and provide 10/10 customer serviceDemonstrate a detailed knowledge of the contact centre call-handling process, including fault progression and management activitiesKey Competencies:Ability to safely manage the LV Fault Restoration Strategy, undertaking network restore and operational response activitiesBe receptive to change and have the ability to motivate oneself and other team members to improve working methods with a view to bettering fault performance and subsequent repair costsCompetent in monitoring progress and implementing controls to ensure fault activities are progressed in a timely and proactive basis.
