If youre a nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) occupational therapist, physiotherapist or paramedic, you could use your skills differently as a functional specialist.For a complete understanding of this opportunity, and what will be required to be a successful applicant, read on.Their functional specialists write reports which help the Department for Communities (DfC) make important decisions about a persons health and care.Day to DayYou will be conducting initial reviews, paper-based, face-to-face, video or telephone assessments to evaluate how a claimants health condition or disability affects their day-to-day lifeOur client's hybrid model means youll be based at home and assigned to work from your nearest assessment centre on a rota basis to deliver face-to-face assessments. Youll spend additional time in our centres or office locations to catch up with your manager and wider team or attend in-person training sessions.To create the report you will be observing and reporting on an individuals ability to carry out activities whilst analyzing and interpreting clinical information and supporting evidence. You will create three comprehensive 3,000-4,000-word reports of the evidence gathered for each claimant, each day. You will be trained to provide detail, evidence and justification are given to support the DWP in making decisions.Our OfferIts a challenging role and can be quite different from other healthcare professions, and thats why our client takes your training and development seriously. Youll begin with a 6week, training programme (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm) with time set aside for self-development learning.The first six months can be the most difficult, so well be there to support you, with close mentorship provided as you work on your ongoing development.A competitive basic salary of 38,500, with potential to rise to 39,900 based on performance.Your requirementsone year's post-registration experience as a nurse, occupational therapist, physiotherapist or paramedicfully registered with a relevant UK regulatory body (NMC, HCPC or other), without restriction or conditions and with a valid PINexcellent observational and communication skills, giving you the ability to listen, empathise and dig deeperthe ability to type at a minimum of 30 words per minutedemonstrable experience with using IT and Microsoft Office, as well as remotely accessing systems such MS Teams
