Kronospan is focused on achieving operational excellence with relentless attention to safety and sustainability.To support our global operations, we are looking for an ambitious and committed General Counsel for a predominately commercial role but you will have oversight of litigation claims, competition law and other legal issues affecting our European operationMain duties and responsibilitiesStructure, negotiate and draft strategic commercial agreements including customer, supplier and distributor contractsProvide clear direction and strategic know-how to our European leadership team on commercial mattersManage disputes and litigation to achieve a practical and cost-effective result.Advise on legal risk and ethical compliance in Europe including anti-corruption laws, EUDR and Code of ConductOversee Mergers and AcquisitionsMonitor legal changes within the industry and implement any necessary changes, or challenge any prospective changes that may impact the organisation's operations.Providing support to internal and external auditOversee the hiring of internal legal staff. Leading the team by example.RequirementsYou will be a qualified solicitor with at least 8 years PQE, some of which will be have been in a General Counsel or Deputy GC roleYou will have excelled academically when achieving your law qualificationsDemonstrated experience in European corporate and commercial law1st class English is essential, additional language skills are also desirableIdeally, you will be experienced in the manufacturing sectorOperating from a local manufacturing site you will need to be prepared for significant travelWhat we offerAs a highly successful global industrial organisation with strong growth plans, career development opportunities are excellent, and a move to a broader role will not be an obstacle to the right candidateWe are committed to rewarding achievement with an attractive performance-based salary package.
