Guy Carpenter is seeking a Reinsurance Legal Counsel to work closely with the business and the Legal & Compliance team on contentious, non-contentious, strategic, project, and commercial matters. This role is based in London and involves advising on a wide range of issues across the UK, CE, and IMEA regions. You should be a proactive self-starter capable of quickly understanding organizational risks, issues, and opportunities.Responsibilities include:Providing commercial legal advice and pragmatic solutions, balancing organizational objectives with risk appetite.Supporting legal matters including contract negotiations, regulatory compliance, data protection, employment law, corporate projects, and dispute resolution.Managing a caseload of contentious matters related to the business.Supporting innovation and managing risks associated with new products and services.Identifying issues beyond specific projects and managing them to completion.Developing a long-term career in-house with enthusiasm.Minimum requirements:UK qualified lawyer with 2-5 years PQE, experience in private practice or in-house at a (re)insurance company or brokerage.Experience in both contentious and non-contentious (re)insurance matters.Excellent communication, drafting, and negotiation skills, with adaptability to dynamic work environments.Proactive, practical, team-oriented, and experienced in fast-paced settings managing multiple deadlines.Preferred qualifications:Knowledge of (re)insurance-specific laws and regulations.Experience in professional services, insurance, or financial sectors.Why join us:We offer professional development, interesting work, and supportive leadership.
