The role involves working across the global business with the commercial functions that trade physical bulk commodities and arrange shipping and logistics for those products, as well as with the companys global freight trading business.The provision of advice related to physically traded commodities, vessel chartering, and operations within the trading business of RWE Supply & Trading GmbH, including initial advising on:contracts for sale and purchase of physically delivered commodities and logistics contracts, credit and finance matters related to shipping and physical commodities, legal aspects of time and voyage charter parties, reviewing and negotiating chartering terms, and shipping/trading documentation such as bills of lading, LOIs, and letters of credit.Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with relevant experience, either in a law firm or in-house.Preferably experience in the energy sector, especially commodity trading or energy projects with debt finance.Comfortable advising independently without external counsel.Strong legal technical ability, with a proven track record in contentious or non-contentious work, quick learner in new legal areas.Self-motivated, results-driven, eager to develop new legal skills.Ability to advise stakeholders confidently, handle conflicts, and defend positions.Enjoys working in a global, cross-functional team environment.We value passion, willingness to learn, resilience, and a strong work ethic.
