OverviewA busy, UHNW family in central London seeks a dedicated, active and experienced nanny/governess to care for two prep-school aged children. The family can offer either live-in or live-out, with separate accommodation available. This is a Monday through Friday role, from 6.45am-8pm daily, with a two hour break in the middle of the day. The successful candidate will also need to be available two nights per week for overnight babysitting. The family are looking for a someone to start as soon as possible andc andidates will also need to be comfortable committing to a 2-week paid trial. ResponsibilitiesCoordinating daily activities and supervising transportation to and from all engagements, playdates, appointments, classes, activities. Planning fun and engaging activities to entertain the children, including lots of time outdoors. Housekeeping on behalf of the children (this doesn’t include laundry, but wardrobe management, playroom management etc), maintaining the home in a tidy state after activities and playtime Organising and planning clubs and educational activities for holidays, forward planning for future holidays. Liaising with the household team on any upcoming events. Organise gifts, books, hampers etc for holidays or events. Checking all children’s supplies and replacing when required. Checking school app daily and organising anything needed for school. Checking household email daily and responding where required. Flagging anything important to the team where relevant. Calendar management and organising any activities, play dates / party invitations etc, purchasing gifts. Liaising with chef on menus – no allergies. Assisting with school pick up and drop off when necessary. Travel will be required with the role and all packing will be the nanny’s responsibility., The children both love to read so it is important for the nanny to ensure they have plenty of books to read, always keeping on top of new books that are coming out and reading regularly with the children. Supervising their emotional and psychological learning and growth, supporting their development. It is important for the nanny to socialise with other parents and nannies and the nanny should be proactive in organising playdates for the children RequirementsThis is a young, dynamic family with busy lives, and they take great care of their staff. In return, they are looking for someone truly dedicated to their children’s well-being. The right candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment with ever-evolving schedules and plans. The ideal candidate is warm, fun, and nurturing while also being adaptable, structured, and capable of instilling discipline when needed. The mother enjoys being hands-on, so the ideal candidate is someone who is adept at reading the room, knowing when to take a lead and when to take a step back. Candidates must be fit and active, able to keep up with two energetic children and able to support (and partake) their continuing physical development. The successful candidate must have worked as a nanny in an UHNW household and should demonstrate a passion for looking after young children. Longevity in previous roles would be preferred, the family is looking for a long-term fit Strong educational grades (A levels and above) would also be an advantage, and ideally the nanny/governess would have experience working in childhood education. A background in teaching would be highly desirable, as the family would love the nanny to take on a governess-style role. Creativity and imagination are key, making playtime and education fun. Strong time management and computer literacy to manage the children’s admin, daily schedules, acting as a point of contact for their school etc. The ability to work as a collaborative team member in a fully staffed household. Strong communication skills, both written and verbally – good grammar a must. A patient and caring person who can set boundaries with kindness Initiative is also vital, along with excellent organisational skills and the ability to be 5 steps ahead at all times Flexible and adaptable, able to pivot quickly and without fuss, and to accommodate last minute changes to plans and schedules Salary and BenefitsThe family will offer a generous salary to the successful candidate (from £65,000 DOE), a discretionary bonus, food provided on site daily, pension, and 28 days holiday each year including bank holidays.
