I'm now looking for a PCB Layout Technical Assistant to join our clients growing engineering team and support the development of robust, reliable systems used across critical naval platforms.Interested in this role You can find all the relevant information in the description below.About the Role:As a PCB Layout Technical Assistant, you'll support the full PCB design lifecycle - from approved schematics to production-ready data packs. Working in a fast-paced, high-integrity environment, you'll collaborate with engineers across disciplines to deliver layouts that meet exacting electrical, mechanical, and manufacturability standards.Key Responsibilities:Support the creation of PCB layouts using Altium DesignerPerform component placement, routing, and DRCs under engineering guidancePrepare manufacturing data packs (Gerbers, BOMs, PnP files)Manage and maintain PCB library componentsLiaise with engineers to ensure layout intent matches functional requirementsSupport configuration control and documentation of PCB design dataAssist in continuous improvement efforts using Kaizen principlesProvide support during communication with external manufacturers and assemblersWhat We're Looking For:Essential:Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Electrical or Electronic EngineeringFamiliarity with PCB layout tools (preferably Altium Designer)Strong attention to detail and a methodical approachExcellent communication and collaboration skillsDesirable:Experience with real-world PCB layout and manufacturingKnowledge of IPC 2221 or equivalent layout/fab standardsUnderstanding of configuration control and design lifecycle processesExposure to external CEMs or manufacturing environmentsFamiliarity with tools like Zuken Cadstar and DFM principlesWhy Join our Client?You'll be part of a close-knit, technically skilled team working on mission-critical technologies.
