We're working exclusively with a well-established SME civil engineering company based near Mansfield, who are seeking a hands-on Company Accountant to take ownership of their finance function. This role begins on an initial 6-month interim basis, with a view to becoming permanent.This is a highly trusted, standalone role where youll oversee all aspects of the companys finance function - from day-to-day control to high-level reporting and strategic input. Youll be working closely with the Directors to support sound decision-making as the business continues to grow.Key Responsibilities:Produce monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and cashflow reportsLead on year-end accounts preparation and liaise with external accountantsMaintain compliance with CIS, VAT, PAYE, and other statutory obligationsTrack project costs and profitability, supporting operational decision-makingOversee purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control, and payrollPerform bank and control account reconciliations, and manage supplier paymentsWhat Were Looking For: Essential: Previous experience in project accounting within construction or civil engineering Strong management accounts and reporting skills Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA is desirable Comfortable running a finance function independently Knowledge of CIS and job costingHigh proficiency with ERP systems and ExcelWhy Join this Exciting Business?Trusted position within a reputable local businessMix of hands-on finance and strategic involvementGenuine opportunity to go permanent after the initial 6-month interim termCollaborative, down-to-earth leadership team
