Position: Senior Design Engineer - Powertrain Want to make an application Make sure your CV is up to date, then read the following job specs carefully before applying.Location: Hybrid from SolihullPosition Type: Contract Outside IR35About the companyA well-established high-performance motorcycle manufacturer is currently looking for a Senior Design Engineer for their Powertrain project 45 hours per week Essential Criteria:Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field3+ years of CAD design experience in the automotive or motorcycle industryProficiency with PTC CreoStrong understanding of powertrain systems and mechanical design principlesExperience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)Excellent attention to detail and organisational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environmentAdditional Information:DeliverablesDevelop 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings of powertrain components (e.g., engine cases, cylinder heads, crankshafts, transmission gears, covers, intakes and exhausts)Create assemblies and integrate them into complete motorcycle models, ensuring compatibility and packaging feasibilitySupport the design and development of internal combustion engines and hybrid/electric powertrainsPerform tolerance stack-ups, material selection, and design for manufacturability (DFM)Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, testing, procurement, and vehicle integrationConduct design reviews and implement feedback from simulation, validation, and prototype testingWhy work through Contechs?Contechs is a leading Automotive, Design, Engineering, Technology and Innovation Recruitment Consultancy.
