In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining and improving the process and water treatment areas, as well as their associated machinery. You'll play a crucial part in ensuring production targets are consistently met across performance, quality, yield, and environmental standards.This is a Temp to Perm position, with an initial 14-week temporary contract. The working pattern is 4 days on, 4 days off for day shifts, with initial training taking place Monday to Friday.Skills & Essentials:Qualified or experienced apprentice-served Engineer.HNC in Mechanical Engineering or above.Minimum of 3 years of technical, hands-on experience in a similar environment.Key Responsibilities:Support and get involved in new initiatives programmes as required.Provide technical support for executing maintenance tasks and critical cleaning processes.Ensure all asset care tasks defined within the Maintenance Execution Plan are completed.Offer technical support and supervision to Operators and Operator Technicians to help them complete the Maintenance Plan.Conduct Root Cause Analysis when needed.Perform advanced preventative and breakdown maintenance to ensure equipment meets efficiency, availability, yield, and product quality targets.Complete both preventative and corrective complex asset care and breakdown maintenance, as defined by the asset care plan, to ensure machines meet efficiency, availability, yield, and product quality targets.Effectively use the site Maintenance Management System (SAPPM).Carry out Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety Checks to ensure product and equipment remain within specification, escalating any non-conformance immediately.Comply with Stock Checks/Held Stock procedures as required.Be involved in Environmental and Health & Safety risk assessments when requested.Segregate waste material suitable for recycling within your work area.Follow Site Safety best practices to ensure safe-working for yourself and colleagues, demonstrating a zero-accident tolerance.Ensure your personal hygiene meets the requirements of the food industry.Conduct all pre-use inspections on machinery to ensure it's safe to operate.Share and replicate best practices with team members and colleagues to improve yield, quality, safety, and environment.Utilise line monitoring systems and trending at an advanced level to drive performance and escalate issues/non-conformances.Operate all machines (including start-ups, change-overs, and shutdowns) in the designated work area as and when required.Support utilities and facilities as and when required.Perform other departmental tasks to ensure team performance and manufacturing output are achieved.Conduct effective hand-overs at the start and during shifts, covering all necessary safety, technical, and quality issues.Attend and support the delivery of pre-shift team briefing sessions to ensure communication and feedback of key operational and site information.Support the development of apprentices.
