OverviewSenior Engineers make up the body of the engineering department and are responsible for carrying out the day-to-day developments of the design through the design process.The Senior Engineer is fundamentally a hands-on analysis and design-based role within the Civil and Structural department that generally includes interfacing with other engineering disciplines in the project design team.The Senior Engineer also has a shared managerial responsibility in respect of Graduates, Apprentices and/or Designers in the team as and when required to do so.Senior Structural Engineer Key AccountabilitiesPreparation of design documentation throughout the design process, such as technical specifications, risk assessments, method statements, technical files and other documentation required by safety legislation and procedures.Preparation and review of optioneering studies.Development of designs to satisfy technical specificationsPrepare supporting design calculations to substantiate designChecking bespoke design calculationsBasis of Design documentation, substantiation reports and hands-on design analysisContribution to design reviewsPreparation of technical specificationsPreparation of risk assessments, technical files and other technical documentation required by safety legislation and proceduresSenior Structural Engineer RequirementsStrong understanding of the fundamentals of structural engineering discipline, including safety legislation and statutory regulations.Design experience in Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel.Bridge Design experience to Eurocode standards.Experience and ability in the analysis of structural frames and members using proprietary software packages (e.g. STAAD, Autodesk ROBOT).Demonstrable competence gained in a design delivery positionAbility to work to tight deadlines.A strong team player, with good organisational and interpersonal skills.A recognised Engineering Certificate such as HNC / HND / Degree.Nuclear experience or experience from within a highly regulated industry.Experience of supervision/mentoring.NUVIA Employee Benefits8.5% Pension Contribution & Life AssurancePrivate Medical Scheme Employee Share SchemeSalary Sacrifice Schemes: Electrical Vehicles, Technology and Cycle to Work18 Weeks Full Maternity Pay (+21w SMP)25 days holiday (increasing to 28 days after 5 years service, 31 days after 10 years service)Option to buy, sell and carry over up to 5 days annual leave per yearIn partnership with trade unionsPersonal Development & Further Education SupportLong Service & Recognition AwardsFree Employee Assistance ProgrammeFlexible hybrid & agile working After 1 year of service.NUVIA - a subsidiary of VINCI construction - is an international company that operates across highly regulated sectors including Civil Nuclear and has a strong presence and history of delivery at nuclear sites in the UK and internationally.NUVIA is a performance-driven company that is committed to the development of its people within a culture of safety, innovation, and excellence.NUVIA UK is committed towards equality in employment.
