This role offers exposure to a broad range of public law disciplines with a particular focus on employment law, litigation, regulatory and governance matters.About the RoleWorking within a well-regarded in-house team, you will provide advice across a broad portfolio of regulatory and governance matters. Youll play a key role in ensuring legal compliance, supporting decision-making, and advising on complex legal issues that impact strategic projects across the region.Areas of Work Include:Employment law: contracts, TUPE, disciplinaries, redundancies, and organisational changeGovernance: committee arrangements, officer delegations, ethical standards, and constitutional mattersRegulatory and compliance mattersLitigation, including debt recovery and civil claimsInformation governance and data protectionEqualities law and the Public Sector Equality DutyDevolution-related legal work and joint arrangements with other authoritiesAlthough the balance of work will be influenced by service needs, the team is committed to playing to individuals' strengths and offering opportunities to broaden experience.Key ResponsibilitiesProviding advice and drafting legal documentation across employment, governance and regulatory mattersSupporting decision-making processes and ensuring legal and procedural complianceWorking collaboratively across departments and supporting colleagues within the legal teamContributing to ongoing improvement of legal services and resilience through development and trainingAbout YouYou will be a qualified solicitor, barrister or chartered legal executive entitled to practise in England and Wales.
