It has been specifically designed for training level medics who would like to gain more General Surgery experience and consolidate their knowledge, skills and confidence prior to moving on to the next stage of their career, and for those looking to gain wider experience of the NHS. This would be suitable for someone who has some surgical experience at Foundation or SHO level. The minimum skill requirement, including 2 years of post graduate experience, is outlined in the attached person specification. Some aspects of the role can be bespoke to the individual needs of the post-holder and tailored to take into account previous relevant experience, or achievement of requirements for application to specialty training. Out of hours duties will be as part of a full shift system where participants will contribute to a working pattern including weekends, nights, twilights and longs days, subject to verification of the rota the successful candidate will be allocated to.
