Working within theEnergetics and Materials Team , you will be responsible for the research, development, clearance, and manufacture of materials and products to meet demanding requirements. These include physical, chemical, thermal, mechanical, and ballistic properties under extreme conditions such as temperature, pressure, and vibration. Given the nature of the role, candidates may not have experience in all aspects. Therefore, the successful candidate will attend specialist training courses and conferences, alongside on-the-job training to develop the necessary skills and competences. Technical Responsibilities - Energetics Chemist Develop and monitor propellant to meet energy, mechanical, and ballistic requirements. Improve, drive efficiencies, and standardize manufacturing processes. Qualify propellant and materials according to defence and internal standards. Manage materials (stocks, quality, performance, legislation) to meet strict design requirements. Support, monitor, and improve manufacturing processes. Qualify materials per standards. Clearance of ingredients and finished materials for manufacturing. Research and test materials using known and novel processing methods, including mixing technology. Requirements: Degree in Chemistry. Genuine interest and aptitude in chemistry/material science, with high self-motivation. Significant practical experience in a disciplined/technical manufacturing, process, or lab environment.#J-18808-Ljbffr
