At Alchemy we are working with an established Fine Art installation company to who are looking to bring on an Installation Technician/Picture Hanger to their dynamic team. A high number of candidates may make applications for this position, so make sure to send your CV and application through as soon as possible.Key Responsibilities:Install 2D and 3D artworks with a focus on accuracy, safety, and visual presentationUse appropriate hanging systems, tools, and hardware (e.g., French cleats, security hangers, museum rails)Assess wall types, surfaces, and spatial layouts to determine optimal installation methodsAssist with transportation, packing, and unpacking of artworks to museum-quality standardsWrap, pad, and protect artworks using archival materials for storage or transitMeasure, level, and align works according to curatorial or client specificationsFollow all health and safety procedures and maintain an organized, hazard-free workspaceLiaise with curators, clients, project managers, and registrars to coordinate smooth installationsDocument installation details, artwork conditions, and handling notes for recordkeepingSupport setup and takedown of exhibitions and art fairs as requiredSkills & Qualifications:Experience in art installation, picture hanging, or fine art handlingStrong knowledge of hanging hardware, systems, and professional display techniquesSkilled in using power tools and basic carpentryExceptional attention to detail and professionalismAbility to read and interpret floorplans, layouts, and curator instructionsPhysically fit and comfortable handling large, heavy, or delicate objectsStrong communication and teamwork skillsValid drivers license (preferred)
