Role: Fleet Operations ManagerIncrease your chances of an interview by reading the following overview of this role before making an application.Location: WakefieldShift: Monday - Friday (Days)Salary: 42,500 - 45,000 + Company Bonus & Additional Company BenefitsKey Responsibilities for the Fleet Operations Manager role:Fleet oversight: You'll take ownership of our commercial vehicle fleet - including vans, HGVs, and specialist vehicles - ensuring they're roadworthy, compliant, and ready to go when needed.Maintenance and repairs: Scheduling services, MOTs, and inspections; managing breakdowns; and keeping detailed maintenance records.Cost control: You'll keep a close eye on spend - from fuel and tyres to insurance and leasing - constantly looking for ways to reduce waste and improve value.Compliance and safety: Ensuring we meet all legal, safety and environmental standards. Keeping documentation accurate and audit-ready.Driver liaison: Supporting drivers with vehicle issues, communicating planned downtime, and making sure they've got what they need to do their jobs.Supplier management: Working with garages, leasing companies, fuel card providers, and other partners. Negotiating contracts and holding people to account.Continuous improvement: We want someone who'll challenge the status quo, spot inefficiencies, and suggest smarter ways of working.Key SkillsA proven background in Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain environments (Ideally as a Fleet Operations Manager)Strong understanding of fleet compliance.Highly organised, with excellent attention to detailConfident using fleet management systems, trackers, and spreadsheetsAble to work independently and make informed decisionsA good communicator who's comfortable dealing with everyone from drivers to directorsSomeone who takes real ownership and pride in keeping things running smoothly.
