Buyer Location: Cumbria, UK Company: Defence and Aerospace Must have right to Live and work in the UK My client is a world-class provider of solutions for the defence and aerospace industries, serving a global customer base providing comprehensive design, manufacturing, and testing facilities within the companys UK manufacturing centre Role Summary: Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the buyer/scheduler will be responsible for mrp scheduling, buying and maintain the supplier interface for specific commodities.Scroll down for a complete overview of what this job will require Are you the right candidate for this opportunityThe buyer will ensure that business secures the best quality, pricing, payment terms and contracts for products and services it purchases.Skills/ Experience HND or above preferred but will consider candidates with relevant purchase experience. IT literate and fully conversant with all Microsoft Office applications. Experience of ERP/MRP systems would be useful. Experience dealing with electronic parts would be an advantage.Duties and Responsibilities (not exhaustive): Managing the day to day ordering, ensuring goods arrive on time to meet the mrp demand. Communicate any supply problems which may impact business operations. Interface with Operations and Projects on new part introduction. Ensure forward project costings are maintained to ensure the project margins are maintained. Support with the generation of supplier KPIs when required. An integral Team member who will work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvement. Adhere to nay health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to enure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff and visitors. Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships internal and external. Conduct research for new components and suppliers where needed. Resolve any supplier issues to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issue
