General Manager Inks and Coatings Manufacturing Location: North West UK (Near Manchester) Our Client Our client is a long-established and technically advanced manufacturer within the inks and coatings sector, operating as part of a successful international group. With recent investment and a clear strategic direction, the business is seeking a talented General Manager to take responsibility for the 2-Piece and UV Flexo operations at their North West facility. This senior role blends strategic and operational leadership. The successful candidate will drive factory performance, lead cross-functional teams, and work closely with the group board to deliver sustainable growth. Main Responsibilities and Key Tasks Lead day-to-day site operations with full accountability for production performance, safety, quality, and cost. Execute the divisional strategy at a tactical level, aligned with group-wide objectives. Full P&L and budget ownership, including forecasting and financial reporting. Drive continuous improvement and implement lean manufacturing principles. Manage procurement, vendor performance, and inventory across the supply chain. Ensure site-wide compliance with ISO standards, HSE legislation, and internal policies. Head the Steering Team to coordinate cross-functional alignment and delivery. Champion sustainability and ESG initiatives across all operational areas. Support innovation through collaboration with technical and R&D teams. Report directly to group leadership and act as the key site liaison for board-level communication. Lead workforce development, talent planning, and succession initiatives. Person Specification Essential Experience & Skills Senior leadership experience within manufacturing (coatings, inks, or packaging preferred) Full P&L responsibility and track record of financial management Deep knowledge of ISO, regulatory, and health 'safety standards Proven success in lean manufacturing, process improvement, and change management Strong background in supply chain and procurement leadership Experienced in managing and developing cross-functional, high-performing teams Leadership & Strategic Capabilities Strong communicator and relationship builder at all levels Able to translate strategic vision into operational execution Collaborative, commercially focused, and results-oriented Passionate about innovation, sustainability, and culture-building Resilient, adaptable, and driven by continuous improvement Why Join?
