About the opportunity; Reporting to the Head of HR, This interim role comes at a pivotal time for the organisation. We are looking for an experienced and pragmatic HR professional who can step in quickly and provide both day-to-day operational support whilst ensuring continuity and stability throughout this period of transition and to give the leadership team an opportunity to shape how the HR team will look on a permanent basis. Key Responsibilities Deliver day-to-day HR support, including employee relations, policy guidance, and recruitment. Provide coaching and HR advice to line managers and senior stakeholders. Support, guide, and upskill the existing HR team. Navigate and advise on varying staff contracts, particularly term-time only and flexible working arrangements. Conduct a light-touch review of the HR structure and make recommendations to strengthen capability, L&D, and long-term planning. Lead or support ongoing HR projects as required, including compliance and policy review. Key Skills & Experience; Proven experience in a senior HR role, ideally within education, social care, not-for-profit, or similarly complex people-focused environments. Comfortable operating in both hands-on and strategic capacities. Strong ER, advisory, and coaching capabilities. Confident navigating complex T&Cs and varied employment arrangements. Ability to hit the ground running, operate autonomously, and provide calm, confident leadership during a period of change. Experience supporting or developing junior HR professionals. Must be available at short notice or immediately and comfortable being onsite 4/5 days a week.
