Description Starting salary: 25770 Contract type: 2 x 6 month fixed term contracts Band: Grade 1 Location: Bute House Edinburgh Working Hours: 1 x 35 hour working week (4 days on 4 days off) 1 x 24 hour working week (2 nights on 4 nights off) Interviews: To be held in person at Bute House Edinburgh on week commencing 23rd June 2025 Front of House/Security Staff to give a 5 Star Welcome to everyone who visits the building. Benefits of joining us at Historic Environment Scotland Enrolment onto a Civil Service Pension scheme 28% employer contribution 25 days annual leave pro-rata (increasing to 30 days after 3 years) 11.5 public holidays Reimbursement for relevant professional subscriptions Support for further education and personal development Study leave for work related courses Flexible working hours (where appropriate) Free entry to all of our properties (with up to three guests) Free entry to English Heritage Manx and Cadw properties Key Responsibilities of this role Meet and greet a variety of visitors on arrival at the property Monitor CCTV Cameras carry out regular security patrols of the building and report security incidents to the relevant department Assist with weekly fire inspections (including fire alarm tests) Maintenance checks of the building (panic alarm tests checking emails updating the diary keeping a key register) General conservation care (oversees the safekeeping of the Collections the silverware check furniture for damage etc) Report any maintenance issues to Historic Environment Scotlands Conservation team or the relevant contractors ensuring that Supervisor and Scottish Government Manager are aware Assist with meeting and event room setup as and when required Conduct Guided Tours as and when required First point of contact for delegates who attend Weekly Meetings Key requirements of the role: In order for you to be successful in this post we will be looking for you to complete a cover letter which addresses: 1.
