Job summary We are currently recruiting for a position within the Trust's small in-house maintenance and grounds service. You will work across various NHS premises in Sheffield, including inpatient and outpatient facilities, providing excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of maintenance. This role is suitable for a time-served Plumber Craftsperson with the skills and knowledge to work on a wide range of plumbing, gas infrastructure, and equipment within the estate. The post involves unsupervised installation, fault diagnosis, planned maintenance, and repairs of building services, engineering plant, and equipment. Flexibility and a willingness to learn new skills are essential. Your positive attitude and ability to work well within a team will contribute to your success. You must be able to work independently without supervision and as part of a team when required. Supervision of other maintenance workers may be necessary as directed. You should own a car and will be reimbursed for mileage on official duties. You will need to drive NHS vehicles (e.g., small vans) and participate in the on-call system. Main duties include Assisting the Estate Services management team in delivering high-quality, cost-effective building services across the Trust's properties, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, NHS standards, manufacturers' recommendations, and statutory requirements. The post involves multi-skilled work across all Trust properties, including installation, maintenance, servicing, and repair of plumbing and building equipment, both internally and externally. This includes maintaining equipment, fabric, and utility services for owned and leased properties. You will participate in the emergency on-call rota, providing out-of-hours cover and responding to emergency calls.
