Job Title: Residential Property Paralegal Location: Finchley Salary: 30k - 35k Job Type: 12m - 18m FTC About Us: We are a well-established and progressive law firm with a strong reputation in property law. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Residential Property Paralegal to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual with a passion for conveyancing and client care. Role Overview: You will support solicitors and fee earners with a broad range of residential property matters, including both freehold and leasehold transactions. This is a fantastic opportunity to further develop your legal career in a supportive and collaborative environment. Key Areas of Work: Freehold and Leasehold Sales and Purchases: Assist in managing transactions from instruction through to post-completion, liaising with clients, solicitors, lenders, and agents. Leasehold Enfranchisement & Extensions: Support both landlords and tenants in statutory and voluntary lease extensions, including the preparation of notices and reviewing valuation reports. Involvement in collective enfranchisement matters, acting for groups of leaseholders seeking to acquire the freehold. Residential Remortgages: Draft and review mortgage documentation and ensure timely registration and reporting to lenders. Transfers of Ownership: Assist in transfer of equity transactions, including those arising from divorce, inheritance, or gifting arrangements. Main Responsibilities: Draft and review contracts, transfer deeds, and other legal documentation Carry out title checks and property searches Prepare and submit Land Registry and HMRC forms (including SDLT) Communicate with clients and third parties throughout the transaction Maintain accurate and compliant case records Manage a small caseload under supervision, where appropriate Requirements: A minimum of 12 months experience in residential conveyancing is preferred Familiarity with the conveyancing process from start to finish Experience with leasehold transactions and knowledge of lease extensions/enfranchisement is advantageous Strong administrative and organisational skills Excellent written and verbal communication Legal qualification (e.g. LLB, LPC) desirable but not essential
