This role is central to delivering best value from the Councils land and property assets, through expert handling of property acquisitions, disposals, leases, and other transactions.You will play a key role in enabling the Council to meet its strategic goalssupporting regeneration, housing delivery, and community serviceswhile ensuring compliance with statutory duties and internal governance.Key Responsibilities:Lead on property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, lease renewals, licences, and wayleavesProvide strategic property advice to support service delivery and estate rationalisationPrepare reports, valuations, and recommendations for Cabinet, committees, and senior managementNegotiate with external parties, including developers, tenants, landowners, and legal representativesEnsure transactions are conducted in line with public sector regulations and value-for-money principlesMaintain accurate asset records and contribute to property reviews and asset performance reportingSkills & Experience Required:Degree in surveying or a related discipline; MRICS or working toward chartered status preferredStrong track record of handling property transactions, ideally within a public sector or mixed-use environmentKnowledge of local authority governance, statutory requirements, and procurement processesEffective communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary teamFamiliarity with property databases and GIS systems is desirableIf you have the relevant experience and are looking to make a positive impact through your work, we would love to hear from you!
