Were working with a leading player in the UKs digital infrastructure sector to find a Senior Legal Counsel with expertise in compliance, corporate governance, and general commercial or corporate law. You will be part of a flourishing in-house legal team, that is supportive and collaborative, that sits at the heart of a growing business at the forefront of national connectivity. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior lawyer, either already working in house or from private practice looking for their first in-house move, seeking a new challenge in a high-growth environment.The balance of work will vary, according to the changing business needs, but will include corporate M&A and completion work and involvement in the following:Lead UK workstreams on anti-bribery, anti-fraud, and other corporate crime prevention effortsOversee data privacy strategy and compliance, including DPIAs, DSARs, and communications with the ICOManage governance and compliance requirements under the Electronic Communications Code and Telecommunications Security ActOwn and update compliance policies and frameworks across the UK businessSupport on broader corporate governance, including delegated authorities and relationships with Group Treasury and TaxSupport with corporate M&A, competition law and commercial contractsEssential Requirements:A solicitor or barrister qualified in England & Wales, ideally with 10+ years' PQEIn-house or private practice background, with solid experience in compliance, data privacy, and corporate governanceAble to work independently with senior stakeholders and take ownership of regulatory and governance responsibilitiesPractical, proactive, and confident A genuine interest in data privacy and information security experience in these areas is highly valuedExperience with company secretarial tasks, and exposure to commercial contracts or corporate M&A would be a plusOn offer is a fantastic corporate culture, that is friendly and supportive, as well as good career progression.
