We're looking for dedicated Learning Support Workers to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of learners in Peterborough and Stamford.In this vital role, you'll work as part of our Additional Learning Support (ALS) provision, empowering students who need extra help to thrive in their education. You'll collaborate closely with teaching staff, fostering independence and ensuring students effectively access and participate in learning. For those with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), you'll be instrumental in delivering the support they need to achieve their academic goals.What you'll do: Support student comprehension by clarifying, explaining, and simplifying instructions. Keep students engaged and motivated, helping them stay focused on their learning. Understand and respond to individual learning needs, developing and implementing effective support strategies based on students' learning difficulties or disabilities, risk assessments, care plans, and EHCP targets. Promote the use of assistive technology and resources to enhance learning and independence. Boost student confidence and self-esteem, actively seeking opportunities to empower them in their learning journey. Develop tailored resources and strategies to help students access their learning environment. Assist with literacy skills, including reading, spelling, punctuation, and grammar, using various strategies to build independence. Guide students in developing essential study skills, such as organization, note-taking, and scribing. Provide exam support by acting as an invigilator, scribe, reader, or prompt when required. Maintain accurate daily support records and contribute to reviews, agreements, and target setting to monitor progress and ensure quality. Attend regular meetings to share information and contribute to evaluations. Accompany students on trips and work experience as needed. Provide mobility support, including assistance with walking aids and wheelchairs. Promote positive student behavior and attitudes, working alongside teaching staff to manage individuals and groups.
