These include but are not limited to: Assisting the therapists and supporting the therapy service by carrying out delegated duties. Treating own designated workload of patients and maintaining associated patient records utilising knowledge and skills gained through experience and/ or relevant qualifications. Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff to carry out physical activity. Assisting in maintaining services and contributing to the development of services. Main duties of the jobThe rotational post which sits within a team of physiotherapy techs providing therapy to patients across Surgical, Medical, Cardiothoracics, Renal and HaemOncology wards. The post supports timely discharge and patient flow and is integral to the provision of 7 day inpatient rehabilitation services Working for our organisationSt George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the regional specialist care provider for south west London, Surrey and beyond. It has a helipad which opened in spring 2014 and the work of its emergency department was a longstanding feature of Channel 4’s ‘24 Hours in A&E’ programme. The hospital also provides all the usual care you would expect from a local NHS district general hospital. We also provide services at Queen Mary’s Hospital in Roehampton. These include outpatient rapid diagnostic and treatment facilities, a minor injuries unit, limb fitting services and 70 elderly, intermediate care and rehabilitation beds. Person specificationQualifications and TrainingLiterate Numeracy Knowledge of the role of Physiotherapy NVQ 2 Recognised qualification in an area related to post or equivalent life skill.
