Please see the links* at the bottom the page, to find out more about DSV.DSV are recruiting for a Facility Assistant at our Thrapston LocationThis role will work with and support the Warehouse Operations Manager and Supervisors in delivering/exceeding contractual customer KPI’s within the warehouse to an agreed DSV budget, whilst driving health & safety and best practice within the operational environment.To ensure that all allocated tasks are completed on time and accurately as possible. The Facility Assistant must ensure that they are compliant with DSV Health & Safety Standards at all times, identifying areas of risk and look to communicate to their immediate line manager on how the site can continuously improve standards. The Facility Assistant will make up a key part of the warehouse team, working closely with the warehouse manager and supervisor/s the warehouse team taking responsible for keeping buildings in clean and orderly condition, and will perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, cleaning and stocking restrooms, washing walls, glass and upholstered furniture, and removing rubbish. Duties may include notifying management of the need for repairs. EG - The candidate must demonstrate excellent leadership skills supporting departmental managers, branch managers and key senior stakeholders pertinent to the branch operational areas.Key TasksHealth & Safety – Carrying out daily checks on equipment and ensuring general compliance with health & safety guidelines set out by DSV. Identifying any further improvements that can be made by means of discussions during shift briefings. Ensure that all correct PPE is in use for the tasks in hand Hygiene – Ensuring the warehouse is kept to agreed standard through the 5S culture, take ownership of designated areas within the warehouse.Warehouse DutiesResponsible for all basic cleaning in and around the warehouse area in accordance with the site cleaning procedure and schedule. Monitors and maintains sanitation and cleanliness of assigned areas Dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, picking up larger objects off the floor, and spot cleaning glass and windows. Maintaining cleaning equipment and supplies Notify the warehouse management team of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairsDuties / ResponsibilitiesUnderstand and comply with all relevant Company rules, agreements, policies, procedures and with all relevant legislative requirements and codes of practice. Ensure Company business is treated in the strictest confidence and not disclosed to persons outside the Company. Act in a professional manner, ensure good working relationships are maintained and promote a good image of the Company at all times Maintain and comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental standards, to be aware of the Occupational Health & Safety Management System, OHSAS18001 and to appreciate the responsibility you have to adhere to the respective procedures. Be aware that the Company operates a Quality Assurance system ISO 9001:2008 and adhere to the respective procedures. Ensure a good standard of housekeeping through observance of relevant Company policies and ensure that work areas are secure and locked when unoccupied. Where appropriate challenge and determine reasons for presence on site of any unauthorised person.
