Working under the Roskill model, we bring together multi-disciplinary teams of investigator, lawyers, accountants, and eDiscovery specialists to tackle high stakes cases.On average, an SFO investigation involves nearly five million documents, requiring large scale document reviews to identify key evidence and meet our legal disclosure obligations. To manage this review, the SFO uses a sophisticated eDiscovery platform equipped with AI-assisted review features. We are at the forefront of deploying this technology within the criminal justice system and have successfully used it in live cases. Expanding the use of the technology is a strategic priority outlined in our business plan.ResponsibilitiesTo enhance our capabilities, we are seeking an experienced manager to spearhead the development and integration of predictive coding, Technology Assisted Review (TAR), and advanced analytics into our eDiscovery workflows. This is a high impact role, reporting into the Senior Responsible Owner (SRO) for the project and shaping how justice is delivered in the digital age. You will:Research and apply statistical methodologies to ensure the defensible and effective use of TAR in criminal investigations, ensuring it withstands scrutiny in court; Develop policies and design processes to embed AI-driven document review across case teams, including delivery of comprehensive training; Oversee data collection and analysis to assess TAR performance, ensuring adherence to best practices and quantifying its impact on investigations; Collaborate with case teams and leadership to explore different applications of TAR and identify the most effective and impactful approaches.Beyond TAR, this role offers the opportunity to explore and integrate further AI innovations, subject to capacity and the successful rollout of TAR. This could involve evaluating emerging AI tools that enhance investigative efficiency and improve case outcomes.As the TAR Lead at the SFO, you will drive the integration of document review into complex criminal investigations.
