After training they will be required to perform blood drawing procedures (venipuncture) for adults and children over 5 years of age, along with near patient testing (capillary sampling) duties. The phlebotomist will operate using appropriate equipment and instruments, without direct supervision, adhering to Trust clinical practices and guidelines.
