Your involvement will span all aspects of these projects, including engaging with business subject matter experts, model building, evaluation, and deployment.You will also contribute to the development of innovative tools and techniques for the team, leveraging internal packages, innovation projects, and university research partnerships.Our team is structured into smaller, focused stream-aligned agile teams, each collaborating with different business areas and subject matter experts to foster mutual understanding of the business, its challenges, and needs. You’ll have the opportunity to rotate to other teams throughout the year to build strong relationships with various business areas while providing opportunities for team members to develop through exposure to new data challenges and domain-specific problems.This is a hybrid role, with options to work from our London, Bristol, or Bournemouth offices, with a requirement to be in the office for two days each month.Salary InformationPay: Circa £60,000 per annum. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.About YouConceiving and developing machine learning solutions to address complex business challenges, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to define project goals, scope, and deliverables. Taking ownership of the deployment of solutions into production environments, continuously monitoring and maintaining models to ensure robust performance and reliability. Establishing and propagating best practices within the team, including coding standards, version control, and documentation. Conducting thorough code reviews ensuring team best practice is met and providing guidance to junior data scientists within the team, fostering their development. Staying up to date with the latest advancements in data science. Driving innovation by applying new techniques, tools, and methodologies to solve business problems. Communicating complex data science concepts and insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner. Ensuring strong ethical underpinnings of all analytics solutions developed, driving good outcomes for customers.Essential SkillsProven experience as a Data Scientist or similar role in a commercial environment, with proficiency in reviewing colleagues' work and using Git for version control Expertise in Python and its associated data science libraries, with clean, well-documented, and unit-tested coding skills. Strong foundation with a variety of machine learning models, including but not limited to gradient boosted models, generalized linear models, and large language models. Experience deploying production-ready solutions that ensure robustness, scalability, and alignment with business goals. Ability to deliver projects and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Ability to innovate by seeking creative solutions to enhance conventional methods, alongside a commitment to lifelong technical skill development.
