1 week ago Be among the first 25 applicants Designated Matron within the family health directorate who will have responsibility for one of the acute ward areas along with the nursing in childrens outpatients, childrens specialist nursing, community nursing teams, the childrens play team and the child development centre.Have a visible and accessible presence in clinical and non-clinical areas, to help, advice and support for the public and staff, ensuring high quality care for our patients.Be responsible for providing specialist education and training to a range of professionals/multi disciplines.Provide nursing knowledge and skills to undertake the operational management and strategic development of the service and maintain compliance with metrics.Develop policies, procedures and guidelines.Ensure that the service specifications for the specialist areas are delivered to a high standard ensuring measurable outcomes are benchmarked against National standards.Responsible for providing high quality care for patients within the Directorate ensuring patient/client /care involvement in the development of services.Leadership and Professional StandardsTo act as an expert providing leadership and advice across the Paediatric teams and wider trust. To be visible and accessible to staff, patients and relatives. Gives guidance and support to the clinical leaders in the services and grow strong leaders for the future. Continually monitors the quality of nursing care to agreed standards and support the teams to implement change as necessary Functions as part of the Children and young persons board to deliver the best care to Children and young people. Follow Trust Policies and ensure all practice is within the Trust guidelines. Acting as a role model, employ professional behaviour that encourages, motivates and coaches their team members to challenge their current competencies, whilst seeking opportunities to expand their roles. To lead on projects to support the development of services within your portfolio Constantly evaluates nursing care to promote current research-based practice. To deputise for the Head Nurse for Family Health as requested. To be part of the Paediatric Matron duty rota by providing appropriate support to the Trusts capacity management process to ensure patients access the care needed at the appropriate time and receive their care in the right clinical setting.
