Lets talk.Whats the package?Along with a competitive salary of between 53,711 - 73,451, we also offer great benefits such as:Enrolment into our double-matched pension scheme25 days holiday (rising with service) plus bank holidaysExcellent opportunities for career growthAgile working arrangementsWhat will you do?Preparation of regional forecasts incorporating enhanced use of data and stakeholder inputsAnalysing future network capabilities, identifying capacity requirements and creating strategic network development plansDelivery of NPgs strategies for the fulfilment of the Whole System Licence condition which requires coordination and collaboration with other Electricity Distributors in order to build a common understanding where their actions could have cross-network impactsIdentify future network constraints by undertaking network simulations to analyse the capability of our networks to accommodate forecast load, including power flow analysis, fault level calculations, voltage and thermal capability assessmentsDevelop new capabilities, models and tools such as the use of Digital Twins, to anticipate constraints on the network. Implement automated analysis methodologies for the efficient application of future system forecasts in network assessmentsWork closely with the design and system flexibility teams to establish the most economic and efficient network investments, comparing traditional and non-wire smart solutionsMaintain accurate distribution network models including equivalents of the transmission network at Grid Supply Point interfaces for steady state and dynamic analysis at all voltage levelsDevelop and deliver our Whole System Strategies in accordance with Ofgems Whole System Licence Condition, establishing strong working relationships with external stakeholders (NGESO, NGET, other Distribution Network Operators, other energy vector organisations)Key Competencies Good relationship builder with close liaison with senior colleagues providing inputs to forecasting and users of the outputsStrong analytical skills to interpret information and apply judgement to decision makingFundamental knowledge of the design, operation, protection and safety of electricity distribution networks, with an understanding of the decarbonisation energy transition, regulatory and licence requirements, and industry wide codesStrong written and spoken communication skills clear, concise, engaging and persuasive with the ability to produce high quality bids and plansManage own workload through excellent planning and organising skills with attention to detail. Good time management skills with the ability to deliver tasks to deadlinesStrong IT skills including Excel, Word and PowerPointWhat qualifications and experience should you have?Essential qualifications and experience Level 5 or 6 (HND, degree, or equivalent) in STEM subject, or a level 4 qualification (e.g., HNC) with at least three years of relevant experienceKnowledgeable user of power system analysis software e.g. PowerFactory.
