This role is central to executing the gallerys brand strategy, growing our audience, and enhancing our visibility across print and digital platforms. This leadership role will be responsible for developing and overseeing all marketing and communications initiatives, managing external consultants and internal resources, and representing the gallerys voice to press, institutions, and key stakeholders. A strong knowledge and interest in contemporary art and design and the wider creative industries is essential for this role. Key ResponsibilitiesMarketingPlan and lead regular marketing meetings; provide updates and obtain approvals for campaigns and social content.Collaborate with external consultants to implement and refine marketing strategies.Commission, brief, and oversee freelancers and creative partners (photographers, videographers, printers, developers), ensuring high-quality deliverables within budgets.Manage and schedule content across digital platforms (e.g. Instagram).Maintain and update website content, ensuring accuracy and functionality.Develop and execute email marketing campaigns via Mailchimp; analyse performance and maintain contact databases.Produce printed materials, including individual and annual exhibition catalogues, signage, leaflets, and business cards.Track and log marketing expenses; submit quarterly reports to accounts.Maintain and update internal media and marketing databases.Press and CommunicationsManage press@galleryfumi.com: respond to enquiries, coordinate timely responses, and track activity in the press pipeline (Streak).Work to grow press contacts and make connections on behalf of the gallery.Coordinate and write press releases and secure features in print and online publications; archive and publish coverage.Write exhibition texts, create QR code links and artwork labels.Maintain and grow press contact lists on Artlogic and Mailchimp.Collaborate with artists to develop their CVs with information on new works, techniques, and concepts.Conduct studio visits and carry out process photography.Provide content and images for exhibition and annual catalogues and websites.Coordinate loan requests with the Registrar and Gallery Manager.Liaise with external PR agency as needed.GeneralSupport the physical installation and deinstallation of exhibitions, including vinyl application, artwork handling, and packing.Train new gallery assistants on marketing and communications procedures.QualificationsMinimum 3+ years experience in a similar marketing and communications role in art and design.Bachelor's degree in marketingAdvanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Photoshop) to create digital catalogues and edit photography.Advanced knowledge of Artlogic, Dropbox and Mailchimp or similar gallery management systems.Strong verbal and written skills.Experience in writing press releases and exhibition texts about contemporary design.
