Design Manager / DesignerQualifications, skills, and all relevant experience needed for this role can be found in the full description below.As part of a growing department that drives the collection, design and innovation, Emilia Wickstead is looking for a Design Manager to join the Design team.The candidate will play an integral role in working with the Design team, which consists of a Creative Director, Design Director, Senior Designer and Design Assistant to deliver 4 collections a year, including capsule collections and special projects.This role is responsible for design and execution. The candidate will work closely with the Production Developers, our Commercial Director and the Design Director to plan the design and development of each seasonal collection. They will also assist with delivering Emilia Wicksteads creative vision, on time and on budget.Responsibilities:Reporting into the Design Director, this role is exclusively responsible for coordinating all Ready toWear information on collections, assisting design and development.Research trends and conducting market research.Assist with defining creative direction for the season, creating mood boards, print proposals andcolour palettes for each range/season.Translate research and trends into collections you will assist with defining key silhouettedirection, sketching new styles, updating existing styles.Follow the range plan set by the Commercial Director to build out ideas on commercial stylesCoordinate/work closely with the Product development team for the planning and execution ofgarment fittings. Manage fit sessions and scheduling.Attend fittings to help find solutions to any problems that may come up during the fitting process.Work to the design calendar to meet deadlines: ensure that all teams are aware of the upcomingtasks and deadlines, foresee any challenges and problems to solve to hit deadlines, discuss anyadjustments needed to the calendar with the Design Director, book appointments in outlook for allkey meetings, etc.Coordinate and template budgets across all areas of the collectionsManage the design critical Path -Be responsible for sourcing, employing and briefing freelancers.Manages and designs capsulesCoordinate E-Comm shoots along with Ecomm ManagerRequirements:Experienced in calendar management and project managementPeople Management experience a plus.Highly structured and able to maintain clear overview at all times5 years + fashion experienceAself-starter and a team playerCreative, innovative and willing to contribute ideas and professional opinionSolutions and deadlines drivenExcellent on the craft and detailExcellent communications skillsAbility to work on multiple projects at any given timeAbility to work well under pressure, positive and enthusiasticDesign experience and creative mindsetKeen eye for print and researchHighly proficient in the Microsoft office suite including excel and Adobe suite, such as Photoshop, Indesign and IllustratorAbility to work cross-functionally, building strong relationships within the businessPlease specify your salary expectations with your application and confirm the right to work in the UK without restriction.If you do not hear back from us within 2 weeks, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful in your application.
