We are seeking to appoint a number of lunchtime supervisors to join our well-established team. These posts are permanent, 10 hours a week, Term Time only.Previous experience of working in a school is desirable. The successful applicant must be able to work as part of a team as well as being able to use initiative when appropriate. The successful candidates will work under the direction of the class teacher to support an individual class.Any candidates must have a kind nature, understanding of children and their needs and a can-do attitude.Job DescriptionTo supervise pupils regarding personal hygiene before lunch, arranging hand washing, changing and dressing where necessary. To assist and supervise in the dining room Serve meals to children where required Encourage table manners e.g., appropriate use of cutlery, consideration for others etc. Feeding pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties Assisting pupils with returning plates Clearing up spillage as appropriate To liaise with teachers and other staff about the appropriate seating and other arrangements for pupils during lunch time To liaise with Manager regarding meals, special dietary requirements etc. To share in indoor and outdoor supervision during the midday break To organise appropriate games and activities To monitor and manage pupils' behaviour in line with school policies and with support from other school staff To liaise with teachers and teaching assistants at the end of lunchtime about any issues that have arisen To participate in training courses, which may involve overtime payments Comply with all school polices relating to: Health and Safety; Child Protection and equalityPerson SpecificationExperience of working with childrenAbility to follow straightforward oral and written instructions and to keep basic work records. Physical skills related to the work.
