They operate in a collaborative and friendly manner - you will be able to make a difference with the support of the team.We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join a dynamic team within a leading global organisation specialising in high end machinery for safety critical markets. This role essentially is responsible for the on time delivery of both products and services, working with key stakeholders along the process.Day to day responsibilities include:Review and managing MRP requirements, ensuring the right approach is being taken in relation to OTD and inventory levelsPrepare and issue tendorsNegotiating prices and contractsUnderstand make vs buy decisionsEfficient management of the MRP systemWorking with an approved supplier base to create service and framework agreements, blanket purchase ordersMonitor and manage supplier performance to ensure best totalled cost for the business and 100% qualityWork with stakeholders to assist in sourcing and establishing new products and sources of supplyQualifications and experience:5 + years experience within an engineering/manufacturing businessIdeally completed CIPS to L4 or L5 or at least started it - they can support this moving forwardsTechnical aptitude to understand technical drawing - ability to challenge and ask relevant questionsInvolvement of strategic activitiesExperience using any MRP systemPersonal Attributes:Flawless attention to detailStrong negotiation skillsHigh energy and enthusiasticTenacity and accountability of responsibilityAs this is an SME growing business part of a larger corporation, as they grow further, opportunities to develop your career are a realistic possibility, both in the UK or internationally if desired.
