Job Title: Assistant Womens Jersey Wear Designer Manchester City Centre Office Based Role Reports To: Head of Womenswear Design Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and creative Assistant Womens Jersey wear Designer to join our dynamic design team.Read on to find out what you will need to succeed in this position, including skills, qualifications, and experience.With at least 2 years of experience, you will support the creation of trend-led, innovative, and commercially successful designs for womens jersey wear.You will contribute to all aspects of the design process, from concept through to finished product, involved in customer meetings & liaising with our colleagues in China.Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Head of Womenswear to research & develop seasonal concepts and mood boards.Assist in designing jersey wear pieces that align with market trends & target customer profiles.Produce detailed technical CAD sheets to enable China to produce samples.Source fabrics, trims, & embellishments while considering quality & costs.Liaise with our Teams in China to ensure design ideas are translated accurately into final products.Assist in preparing presentations for customers.Stay up to date with the latest womenswear & jersey wear trends, including competitor analysis.Qualifications and Experience: A degree or equivalent qualification in Fashion Design.Minimum of 2 years of experience in designing womenswear, with a focus on jersey wear preferred.Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD programs.Knowledge of garment construction, fabric properties, & textile techniques.Excellent attention to detail & an eye for colour, pattern, and trends.Strong communication & organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Passionate about womenswear design & creating innovative, trend-led products.Desirable Skills: Experience working knitted fabrics, & embellishment knowledge print/embroidery etc.Ability to adapt between different customer requirements & price points.Strong graphic ability.Passion for Fashion : Genuine enthusiasm for womenswear & a commitment to staying updated with industry trends.Key Attributes: Creative thinker with a proactive & can-do attitude.Team player, great communication skills, confident communicating with customers & China Factory.Multitasker working in a fast-paced environment ensuring tight deadlines are met.Apply Now: Please send your CV to Lijie@sumec.com.cn to take the first step towards an exciting career with us.
