We are seeking a highly competent and motivatedMultiskilled Maintenance Engineerto join our Engineering Team at our Brackley site. The role isfactory-basedin a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG environment, which is noisy and refrigerated in some areas, manufacturing short shelf-life products where hygiene standards are critical. The working hours are 4 on, 4 off, 07:00 - 19:00 and 19:00 - 07:00. What will you be doing as a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer?As a Maintenance Engineer, you will optimize machinery output and product quality, minimize plant downtime through effective preventative maintenance, and respond efficiently to breakdowns in specific areas of the factory, all while maintaining a safe and healthy environment and promoting good engineering practices. Key Responsibilities:Lead your team during breakdowns using your skills and experience. Carry out engineering maintenance according to the schedule and take effective corrective actions. Respond quickly to breakdowns in multiple areas, identify root causes, and suggest improvements to prevent recurrence. Communicate unscheduled breakdowns to the Engineering Shift Manager / Principal Engineer and collaborate with operations to minimize disruption. Follow good engineering standards and hygiene practices for the department and site. Ensure all activities comply with health and safety guidelines, highlighting areas for improvement. Report health, safety, animal welfare, and environmental issues promptly. Follow escalation routes for plant downtime and minimize downtime through good engineering practices. Apply basic problem-solving techniques to identify root causes. Raise stock and non-stock requests. Utilize the CMMS system for spare parts management and job logging. Requirements for Success:Advanced Apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical disciplines (BTEC & NVQ Level 3, HNC, HND). Experience in food manufacturing is preferred. Familiarity with process machinery and fault-finding skills. Mechanical fitting skills. Ability to mentor others. Self-motivated with the ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting. Passion for engineering and continuous improvement. Desirable: welding, machining, fabrication, food manufacturing experience, industrial refrigeration, electrical qualifications, PLCs, VSDs, and control systems knowledge.
