An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated, and dynamic experienced nurse to join our client's Oncology and Medical team as Ward Sister/Charge Nurse. The role is based in a 17-bed oncology and medical ward with an additional 2-bed specialist treatment area for Neuroendocrine patients. The ward cares for acutely unwell patients, chemotherapy patients, and end-of-life patients. The successful candidate will join a nursing team providing ongoing care for Oncology & Medical patients within the inpatient setting. You will work with the wider multidisciplinary team to support patients throughout their cancer journey and medical needs. The role is vital in delivering expert patient care. The ideal applicant will have at least 2 years’ experience in an oncology setting, including a good knowledge of caring for patients receiving chemotherapy and supportive therapies, expert cannulation and venepuncture skills, proven teaching, supervision, and staff support skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary team. As a Sister/Charge Nurse, you will ensure that our patients and visitors receive the highest standards of care in a clinical environment conducive to learning, supporting, and supervising more junior or new staff. You will adhere to our vision, aspirations, and values at all times. You will provide specialist nursing advice to support and facilitate high-quality, individualized care to patients, clients, and relatives/carers, working independently in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. You will contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives within a collaborative framework to enhance patient experience. Additionally, you will have responsibility for supporting team development, performance appraisal, and deputising for the Ward Manager.
