Job Description

We are looking for a commercially astute and proactive National Account Manager to lead and grow a strategically important retail account, with a primary focus on chilled food. This role sits at the heart of a fast-paced, dynamic food business and offers a strong platform for someone who thrives on ownership, has a hands-on mindset, and excels in managing complex UK retail relationships.You’ll be responsible for both the daily performance and long-term development of the account, playing a key role in shaping commercial strategy and ensuring execution excellence. It’s a high-visibility role with real influence.Key Responsibilities:Manage the full commercial relationship with a key UK retail customer, ensuring effective day-to-day delivery while building a robust medium-to-long-term strategyOversee pricing, forecasting, promotions, customer admin and commercial performance trackingTake a leading role in regular customer communications, both operational and strategicCollaborate closely with processors, suppliers and internal teams to ensure aligned priorities and high service levelsUse commercial data and category insight to drive margin improvements, category growth and promotional successContribute to business planning, innovation, and demand forecasting alongside NPD and operations teamsBuild strong, trust-based relationships with retail buying teams, becoming a go-to commercial partnerWhat We’re Looking For:Proven experience managing retail accounts, ideally Tesco or another Top 4 UK retailerStrong understanding of meat or protein categories (such as poultry, fish, chilled or frozen)Solid commercial judgement, with experience of pricing, forecasting and P&L ownershipResilient and adaptable, comfortable in fast-moving environments where no two days are the sameA natural collaborator with strong supplier management experience and an understanding of supply chain pressuresExcellent analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to turn data into clear commercial actionThis is an opportunity to join a values-led, globally connected food business with strong momentum.
